We’re Seeking Bracebridge Youth Ambassadors

 

Are you a Bracebridge resident, between 14 to 19 years of age with a strong academic background? Would you like to travel to Norway in August, 2015 as a Youth Ambassador representing the Town of Bracebridge? If so, you are invited to submit an application for consideration by the: Town of Bracebridge-Gol, Norway Friendship Committee.

The Bracebridge Off Leash Dog Park Committee has received approval to build a Dog Park in the southwest corner of James W. Kerr Park.

 

The Dog Park will span an area around 1.7 acres and will cost approximately $40,000 to build which includes fencing, gates, hardware, drainage, garbage receptacles and signage. 

 

The Dog park will be divided into two sections, one for large dogs and the other for small dogs. 

 

The committee is pleased to announce they received a $15,000 donation, from the TransCanada Corporation to assist in the development of the Dog Park.

NOTICE OF STATUTORY PUBLIC MEETING

DEVELOPMENT CHARGES BACKGROUND STUDY AND DRAFT DEVELOPMENT CHARGES BY-LAW

 

Take Notice that the Council for the Town of Bracebridge will host a Public Meeting pursuant to The Development Charges Act, 1997, regarding proposed amendments to development charge rates and policies contained in Development Charges By-law 2014-051 that is currently applied throughout the Town. It is proposed that the amendments to the By-law would be considered by Council on a date subsequent to this public meeting.

 

The proposed amendments relate to certain definitions within By-law 2014-051 and the consideration of rates to be imposed for Park Model Trailers.

 

Development Charges are levied against new development, and are an important source of funding for growth-related capital expenditures. Town growth-related capital programs include: Fire Protection; Library Services; Recreation Services; Public Works Services (including Buildings; Fleet; Roads and Related services to Roads; Parks and Trails); and, General Government (Studies).

 

Council is required under The Development Charges Act, 1997, to hold at least one public meeting to allow the public the opportunity to review and provide comments on amendments to Development Charges By-law 2014-051, the Development Charges Background Study and related staff reports.

 

All interested parties are invited to attend on:

Written comments received prior to the meeting and submissions made at the public meeting will be considered by Council prior to the enactment of a new development charges by-law.
