Spring is the time for many residents of Bracebridge to begin planning their improvement projects for the summer of 2012.  To help you plan here are a number of "quick links" to permits and applications.

After two months of behind the scenes work and an intensive week of "Brand Camp", the Bracebridge Brand Development Committee previewed the community's new brand to the public on Friday, March 2, 2012.  This new economic development brand was developed to attract visitors to Bracebridge, create employment and business opportunities for our residents, and to proclaim Bracebridge as the centre of learning for Muskoka.  Once here, visitors will have opportunities to experience the best that Canada's Cottage Country has to offer in the areas of arts and crafts, cottage cuisine and Muskoka lifestyle.

Our new Brand Promise is:

Bracebridge is the steward of the Cottage Country Brand and is teaching the world the power of living the Muskoka lifestyle in its spirit, the arts, food, home, and recreation.

"Undertake a review of economic development and development approval structures, policies, processes and procedures with the goals of recognizing the "public interest" and ensuring that the Town is able to respond to development proposals in a clearly understood, efficient, effective and legislatively-sound manner including:

Consultation with business and development community.

Review of municipal "best practices" in other communities.

Review of the Town's current approval structures, policies, processes and procedures.

Review of public education information and processes.

Review of available incentive programs."

There are many steps in this process.  A final report is to be presented to the Development Services Committee in May 2012.
