Floating snowmobile bridge closure

BRACEBRIDGE, ON (March 14, 2025) – Effective Friday, March 14, the Town of Bracebridge has closed the floating snowmobile bridge over the Muskoka River near 154 Beaumont Drive (MR 16) and 147 Santa’s Village Road (MR 15).

Town of Bracebridge staff routinely conduct site visits to ensure bridge conditions are safe and maintained. After a season of substantial use, the bridge has sustained minor damage and has been deemed unsafe due to stresses on the structure.

Out of an abundance of caution and prioritizing safety, the bridge has been closed for the season. Fencing has been installed to close access to the bridge. The bridge will be removed from the river in the spring when weather conditions allow.
