Notice of Removal of the Holding (H) Symbol - By-law 2016-088

The Council of the Corporation of the Town of Bracebridge passed By-law 2016-088 on November 29, 2016 under Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, repealing By-law 2016-049, for the property owned by James Watson, legally described as part of Lot 10, Concession 13, Macaulay Ward, Town of Bracebridge, being Parts 1 and 2 of Registered Plan 35R-22579.

By-law 2016-088 zones the property Rural Residential Special – 15 Holding (RR-15H), with the permitted uses limited to the existing uses until the Holding Symbol (H) is removed by by-law, at which time the permitted uses are all those uses in the Rural Residential (RR) zone except for Bed & Breakfast Establishment, Group Home ‘A’, Hobby Farm, with the following provisions: 

  1. Frontage is not required on a year round municipally maintained road for one (1) Detached Dwelling with accessory structures;
  2. The minimum lot size shall be 1.6 hectares; and
  3. The Holding (H) Symbol may only be removed once a Site Plan Agreement as been entered into with the Town of Bracebridge which includes a condition requiring a Road Allowance Use Agreement be entered into with the Town.

Once the Holding (H) Symbol is removed, the permitted uses are limited to Detached Dwelling with the accessory uses of Backyard Hens, Home Industry and Home Occupation.

The earliest date on which Council proposes to meet to pass the amending by-law to remove the Holding (H) Symbol is February 12, 2025.
