BRACEBRIDGE, ON (February 17, 2025) – Rolling road closures will take place to facilitate snow removal from Wednesday, February 19 to Friday, February 21 beginning at 7 p.m. each night until 7 a.m. the following morning.   • Taylor Road (MR 42) from Manitoba Street (MR 37) to Hiram Street;
  • Mary Street from Manitoba Street (MR 37) to James Street; and
  • Ann Street from Manitoba Street (MR 37) to James Street.
Public Works will continue snow removal operations during daytime hours along additional side streets and intersections where required.

This winter season, Bracebridge has received a substantial amount of snow that has created significant challenges for everyone. The Town acknowledges the frustration of dealing with high snowbanks, reduced road widths, and poor visibility, and can assure residents that Public Works crews are doing everything possible to keep roads and sidewalks clear and safe.

While the challenging winter continues, be safe on the roads and adjust driving habits to current conditions.
  • Take It Slow: Reduced visibility from snowbanks requires extra caution. Drive slower than usual and be prepared to stop. When leaving your driveway, edge out slowly to ensure any passing vehicles see you and adjust their speed.
  • Stop Safely: Approach intersections and driveways carefully. High snowbanks may block your view of oncoming traffic or pedestrians. Come to a complete stop and inch forward slowly to check for hazards.
  • Be Patient: Narrower roads mean it may take longer to pass other vehicles or navigate around snow piles. Give yourself extra time for travel to avoid rushing.
  • Stay Back: Give snowplows, sanders, and other road maintenance vehicles plenty of space. They’re working hard to improve road conditions for everyone.

Thank you to the Public Works team who have been working tirelessly all season to keep roads and sidewalks clear and safe and thank you to residents for your patience and support.
