Updates and Maintenance at Bracebridge Sportsplex
BRACEBRIDGE, ON (August 26, 2024) – The Bracebridge Sportsplex pool and climbing wall will be closed for annual maintenance from Friday, August 30 at 4:30 pm to Monday, September 16 at 6:30 a.m.
Facility maintenance improvements include:
- Replacing lap pool circulation pumps;
- Replacing fans in the pool notarium;
- Deep facility cleaning, waxing floors and painting walls; and
- A thorough cleaning of the pool deck and change rooms.
Climbing wall improvements include:
- A thorough cleaning of all holds, climbing wall panels, equipment, harnesses, helmets and ropes; and
- Re-setting the holds for future climbers to enjoy new paths and challenges.
The Sportsplex will remain open during this time. Patrons can still access the indoor walking track, land fitness classes, weightroom, conference and activity rooms. Scheduled programming will also take place.

Kubota North Wellness Centre
The retrofit of the Sportsplex auditorium will begin on Tuesday, September 3 and will last until early December. Half of the existing auditorium will become a multi-purpose community room while the other half will be transformed into the Kubota North Wellness Centre, which will feature free weights, cardio equipment, a functional training area, and personal training.
Sportsplex Entrance Update
Beginning Tuesday, September 3, updates will begin on the entrance to the Bracebridge Sportsplex. This will include an enhanced courtyard area with a variety of native trees, shrubs and perennials, garden beds, bike racks, seating and new facility signage. Access to the facility will be maintained during this time.
