Significant Weather Event Declared
The Town of Bracebridge has declared a Significant Weather Event due to the freezing rain and continued hazards it has caused. Residents are asked to stay home, stay off of roads and stay indoors.
There are hazardous conditions across Bracebridge due to fallen trees and branches, impassable roads, downed power lines and continued power outages. Local road closures will be implemented as required.
Public Works crews are working on tree removal where it is safe to do so and continue to maintain the road and sidewalk network. Stay safe.

A Noise Exemption has been issued to the Canadian Snowcross Racing Association (CSRA).
Due to the winter storm event that took place in early December 2024, the roof of the Muskoka Lumber Community Centre has sustained minor damages that have caused internal leaks. Every effort has been made to repair affected areas, but due to the amount of snow, it has posed to be a challenge. Temporary fixes have been made and will remain in place until dry conditions allow for permanent repairs to be completed.
A Noise Exemption has been issued to the Bracebridge BIA.
Snow removal operations will continue tonight, beginning at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 21 until 7 a.m. on Wednesday, January 22.
